But we can effectively treat endometriosis with herbal remedies.

Endometriosis is the growth of endometrial cells outside the uterus which is abnormal. It affects women in the reproductive years of their life. The word endometriosis is derived from the word ‘endometrium ‘which is the tissue that lines the inside of the uterus, builds and sheds each month during the menstrual cycle. In endometriosis, such tissue is found on the exterior of the uterus and the endometrial tissue develops into abnormal growths, tumors or lesions.

Endometrial growths are generally nonmalignant in nature. These are growths which develop outside their normal locations.unlike the lining of the uterus these endometrial growths have no path to exit the body which results in internal bleeding, scarring and inflammation. Scarring can be cause of INFERTILITY.

The lesions first appear as CLEAR then change to RED which progress to BLACK in a decade.

Ayurveda is the ancient system of natural and holistic medicine and healing. Ayurveda is derived from two words Ayur (longevity) and Veda (science). Ayurveda finds the root cause of the disease and kills it.

Ayurveda is based on three doshas – VATA , PITTA , KAPHA. Panch mahabhutas – AKASH, VAYU, AGNI, JAL, PRITHVI, Saptadhatus – RASA, RAKTA, MAMSA, MEDA, ASTHI , MAJJA, SHUKRA.

According to Ayurveda, each person will be influenced by certain elements more than others. This is because of their prakriti, or natural constitution.

Vata dosha, in which the dominating elements are air and space.

Pitta dosha, in which the dominating elements fire.

Kapha dosha, in which the dominating elements are earth and water.

Ayurvedic Lifestyle

Ayurveda gives huge importance to pathya, or lifestyle. Ayurveda also provides guidance on how to manage our lifestyle on the basis of different seasons.

Endometriosis is a malfunction that harms Kapha Prakriti women more than anyone else. Though it’s also very common in Kapha / Pitta or Kapha / Vata women.

It can be classified as Kapha vikar by function and Pitta vikar by location. This is because of the fact that Kaphadosha controls the function of the endometrial tissue growth in the uterus. This disease has its root in pitta (uterus) that disrupts the function (kapha). Kapha provides lubrication and tissue renewal in the uterus.

In this pathology kapha produces excessive endometrial cells and allows them outside the uterus. This causes problems in both uterus and the vagina. Other areas of the pelvis can be affected as well. The growth of endometrial cells depends on hormone cycles that are controlled by vata and secondly kapha as a Pitta disorder.

At times this disorder is classified as an autoimmune disorder. According to Ayurveda the doshas lose their capacity to function normally. This abnormal function indicates a failure of Vata dosha to coordinate the other two doshas, in other words Vata dosha can be the causative factor in this issue. Another possible causative factor can be a fundamental problem with Ojas, commonly low Ojas. Ayurveda refers to a few herbal remedies for endometriosis.

  • According to Ayurveda, ulcerative colitis is mainly a disorder due to imbalanced pitta with varying degrees of Vata involvement. The latter determines how extensively the inflammatory process will spread proximally and the development of extra intestinal manifestations. The natural qualities and actions of Pitta are manifested wholly or partially and can be observed. The inherent Pitaj qualities are: heat, sharpness, liquidity, and light, slight unctuousness, sour or pungent smell, acidic or sour taste, red, yellow, and dark blue colors.
  • The natural actions of Pitta include: burning sensation, heat, pus formation (suppuration), perspiration, putrification, itching, bleeding (raktasrava), anger, and intensity. The excessive consumption of Pitaj ahara (Pitta-aggravating foods) and Pitta-aggravating regimens initially damages both rakta dhatu and mamsa dhatu. Vata dosha in the lower colon is also aggravated and in the early stages blocks the Pitta and Kapha channels causing further inflammation, mucous accumulation and edema.
