Ayurvedic Treatment for the Sharp Syndrome
Immunity is an integral part of the body that is known to manage body’s defence system against infections, diseases and allergens. Some of the time the immunity cells go on wrong path. They tend to destroy body’s own cells and things. These cells don’t harm body or its functioning anyway but cells wrongly mark them as foreign particles and attack them. This condition is known with a term – autoimmune disorders is a nutshell. It encloses a great pack of immunity cells to destroy healthy tissues of body. One of the major disease that is due to this immunity problems is – the sharp syndrome. This is a disease of connective tissues and this can be managed naturally through natural treatment that is Ayurveda. We will discuss about this further. First of all we should know regarding this disorder and how this originates?
These are structural tissues made up of proteins. These are known to support organs and other parts of the body. These are known to form framework of the body. Connective tissues are made up of two molecules – these are collagen and elastin. The disorders of connective tissues involve the abnormalities of elastin or collagen molecules. The disease involves immune intolerance are polymyositis and Dermatomyositis, scleroderma and systemic lupus erythematosus.
The sharp syndrome involves all these diseased conditions. The sharp syndrome is also known with name of mixed connective tissue disease. Patients known to show symptoms of mixture of these three diseases.
1. Scleroderma – This disease involves the thickening of skin, inflammation, scarring of tissues and blood vessels due to autoimmune problem.
2. Systemic lupus erythematosus – This is a chronic disease that involves joint pain, fatigue, headaches, blood clotting problems, Raynaud’s diseases (in this fingers turned to blue or white and got tingle when cold)
3. Polymyosit is and Dermatomyositis – This disease involves inflammation of muscle fibres. This start with inflammation of white blood cells that then invades muscles. This results in muscle weakness.
What are the major symptoms involved under sharp syndrome?
- Joint pain
- Swollen fingers
- Muscle weakness
- Mild fever
- Rayaund’s phenomenon
- Thickening of skin and connective tissues
- Muscle inflammation
- Swallowing difficulty
- Nausea and vomiting
- Discoloration of fingers and toes
What can be reason for this mixed connective tissue or sharp syndrome disease?
The main reason of the sharp syndrome is the problem of autoimmunity. This disease is associated with mutation of a gene – human leukocyte antigen (HLA). There are antibodies – anti – U1-RNP and anti–U1-70 kd, present in the body that got hyperactive due to the hyperactivity of B-lymphocytes. The t- lymphocyte activity, another kind of immunity cells also hyper activated anti – U1-70 kd. These all results in apoptotic modification of U1-70 kd antigen. This leads to proliferation of vascular endothelial with lymphocytic infiltration of tissues. This disease is known to occurin about 2 persons per 100,000 per year.
How this can be diagnosed?
This can be identified through physical and blood tests. In physical test we can look out physical symptoms – swollen hands and painful, swollen joints etc.
In blood test – we can test for antibody – presence of U1-RNP antibody in the blood test to confirm the diseased condition.
This problem can be handled withefficiency through natural treatment. This natural treatment involves the effect of Ayurveda. Ayurveda is known to heal the ailments through the use of herbs. These herbs known to contain very effective phytochemicals and nutrients that have a positive effect on the diseased condition.
Ayurveda is an old ancient healing medicinal system that originated in India many years ago. This healing system isknown to show the effect on body’s certain factors – physical, mental and spiritual. Ayurveda combines all the factors to manage any ailment.
According to Ayurveda our body is made up of three entities and these three entities are in form of five basic life elements – air, earth, water, fire and space. The entities in Ayurveda are known with the name of doshas. These doshas are:
Vata -This is formed of air and space combination. This is known to control functions like breathing, blinking, blood circulation, all the momentum functioning of the body.
Kapha – kapha is known to beformed of water and earth. This is known to manage the growth and immunity of the body.
Pitta – pitta is known to form through fire and water. This is known to manage body’s metabolic system.
In the condition of sharp syndrome the body’s immune system goes wrong. This happens when it defends against body’s harmful metabolites, named ‘ama’. Ama is termed as toxins and other incompletely burned and incompatible substances that are formed during metabolism process. Ama is processed in the tissues that are known to attack. There are also many other reasons of production of ama. These are from diarrhea, chronic disease such as diabetes and indigestion and SLE etc. this ama penetrates certain body tissues and other systems and nesting toxins deep in the cells. Due to these conditions, our immune system starts attacking the healthy tissues and cells.
The doshas are also affected from all these things. The vata is increased and kapha is disturbed due to autoimmune diseases.
