Leptomeningeal enhancement can be referred to as leptomeningeal disease also. The cause of leptomeningeal disease is the spread of cancer to the csf (cerebrospinal fluid) and leptomeninges (membrane surrounding the brain and spinal cord). When there is a growing cancer in the body and spreads to the csf or the leptomeninges, it arises the condition of lepto meningeal disease. This may result in obstruction in the normal flow of csf (cerebrospinal fluid) and may lead to various neurological difficulties. The presenting features will be described as follows.


Leptomeningeal disease can present various clinical features which may vary from patient to patient. Some of the common symptoms are headache, nausea, vomiting, gait disturbances, etc. The patient may suffer from difficulties in hearing or total hearing loss. He/ she may face changes in eye vision such as reduced eyesight, double vision, etc. Pain in different regions could be observed such as back, leg, etc. Weakness in various body parts may occur. The patient may experience different types of neurological difficulties such as seizures, confusion, behavioural changes or mood irregularities, etc.


The diagnosis of lepto meningeal disease will require various imaging investigations such as MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) of the brain and/or spine, and a lumbar puncture may also be required.

Planet ayurveda prepares neurogenie capsules using herbal extracts of two very beneficial ayurvedic herbs i.e. brahmi (Bacopa monnieri) and ashwagandha (Withania somnifera). 2. Yogendra Ras

Dosage : 1-2 tablets twice or thrice daily with lukewarm water.      

5. Boswellia curcumin
