As Acharya mentioned the toothbrush should be Koorchaka (soft brush) and it should be rotated in a vertical manner around teeth and gums. Do not press the toothbrush too hard on the teeth as it causes pain in teeth. After brushing, rinse it with water. For healthy teeth brushing the teeth twice daily. The toothbrush should be made up of biting and chewing tips of Nyagrodha (Banyan), Khadira (Catechu), Arjuna, and Karanja. Acharya also explains Gandusha (the amount of semi-solid material in such quantity that a person is unable to move it inside the mouth), and Kavala (the amount of semi-solid material in such quantity that a person is able to move it inside the mouth) for maintaining healthy teeth. Cleaning the tongue with tongue cleaner also improves teeth health.
