Pigmented Villonodular Synovitis (PVNS) Treatment In Ayurveda
Abstract
PVNS (pigmented villonodular synovitis) may be an uncommon form of synovitis that can influence joints all through the body, but most commonly the knees. PVNS is usually categorized as localized or diffuse. It is also called a tenosynovial giant cell tumor when it occurs in a tendon. Although it is often described as a tumor or growth, it is not usually cancerous. But in Ayurveda, there is an effective treatment for Pigmented villonodular synovitis. Now we are going to discuss the cause, symptoms, and treatment of pigmented villonodular synovitis.
Introduction
Pigmented villonodular synovitis (PVNS) refers to a severe type of synovitis that affects the soft tissues lining the joints and muscles. Pigmented villonodular synovitis usually affects the knee, hip, and ankle and has a poor prognosis, with symptoms occurring years before diagnosis. In addition, Pigmented villonodular synovitis is more aggressive than the other major subtypes of tenosynovial giant cell tumor (tenosynovial giant cell tumor). Pigmented villonodular synovitis is usually categorized as localized or diffuse.
Localised
In localized pigmented villonodular synovitis, the tumor occurs in just one area of the joint or involves the tendons that support the joints. It is easily treatable.
Diffuse
In diffuse pigmented villonodular synovitis, the tumor involves an entire joint, and it is a more widespread condition. It is difficult to treat and is more aggressive.
Causes
Pigmented villonodular synovitis is caused by overgrowth and thickening of the synovial membrane. All movable joints in the body have a synovial membrane that reduces friction in the joint during joint movement. The abnormal synovial lining caused by pigmented villonodular synovitis causes joint swelling, sometimes interferes with movement, and can grow and destroy nearby joints, including large bones.
