Ayurvedic Aspect and Treatment for Vasculitic Neuropathy

Vascular System is also known as Circulatory System, consists of vessels which carry lymph and blood through the body. The veins and arteries carry blood through the body, carry nutrients and oxygen to body tissues and get hold of tissue waste material. Other than veins and arteries are lymph vessels that assist in carrying the lymph fluid. The role of the lymphatic system is to maintain and protect the fluid environment in the body. So this is the role of the Vascular system and if there is any kind of health concern related to the vascular system then it must hamper the functions of the system as well. One such condition of the vascular system we are going to discuss in this article is Vasculitis Neuropathy. Also we will discuss its Ayurvedic management, so let’s have a look!!!!

Vasculitis Neuropathy

Vasculitis Neuropathy is made up of two terms, vasculitis means inflammation in blood vessels and neuropathy means damage to one or more nerves. So inflammation in those blood vessels which supplies the peripheral nerves leads to Vasculitis Neuropathy. This condition is a peripheral neuropathic condition that can be diagnosed by electrophysiological testing, nerve biopsy and many other blood tests. This condition is very serious and causes disability and morbidity at a very high rate. This is some brief knowledge about Vasculitis Neuropathy, now let’s have a look at this condition in more detail!!!

There are 3 main types of Vasculitis Neuropathythat we are going to discuss below

Primary Systemic Vasculitic Neuropathy

The patients in which systemic vasculitis leads to disease spread in multiple organs to the (PNS) peripheral nervous system is known as Primary Vasculitic neuropathy.

Secondary Vasculitic Neuropathy

There are various conditions like any non-vasculitic systemic disease and any of the other conditions rather than systemic vasculitis may lead to vasculitis neuropathy, known as Secondary Vasculitic neuropathy. These conditions include connective tissue diseases, infectious diseases, malignancy and some vaccinations.

Non-systemic vasculitic neuropathy

Non-systemic vasculitic neuropathy is the condition where no systemic condition can be found out but the evidence of this particular condition is there.

The symptoms of this condition depends upon its type and the location which is involved with those nerve fibers. It causes both motor and sensory dysfunction which leads to the following symptoms

  • Paresthesias (Unusual sensations)
  • Numbness
  • Weakness of muscles of limbs

Skin biopsy is also done to evaluate the nerve innervation in skin, muscle and nerve biopsies to evaluate histopathological evaluation. So these are some methods to examine Vasculitis Neuropathy, one must go for the examinations if they have doubt about this condition.
